The Lesser Scaups lingered at Cosmeston and Eglwys Nunydd whilst a male Ring-necked Duck turned up at Kenfig Pool at the end of the month. Last year's Bonaparte's Gull reappeared at Channel View/Hamadyrad Park/Cardiff Bay and the Great White Egret continued to roost at Hendre Lake. Further west Cefn Sidan sands produced a probable American Herring Gull along with an all too brief Pallid Swift. Photo of the month goes to Chris Brewer with his superb shot of a juv white Gyr Falcon at Rhossili Down. Unfortunately, it failed to reappear so hopes of a quick grip back by those who dipped in December were soon dashed.So with 2 Lesser Scaups, Ring-necked Duck, Great White Egret, Gyr Falcon, Bonaparte's Gull, Pallid Swift & probable American Herring Gull and reports of Laughing Gull at Porthcawl Harbour and Great Spotted Cuckoo at Kenfig Pool - it's official - March was crap!
